  • It identifies physical, social & psychological needs of individuals, designs & executes therapeutic plans and evaluates the effectiveness of physical intervention.
  • Physiotherapy, a smart and modern choice for prevention.
  • It is one of the problem solving management policy by which it promotes the speed in total rehabilitation within a short duration
  • Physiotherapy accelerates the rehabilitation process of most of the disabling conditions and also reduces the recurrence of attack of several disease.
  • When it comes to sports-fitness rehabilitation, Physiotherapy encounters a challenging situation and assures the sportsman without losing enthusiasm, spiritual and social deformation.
  • Physiotherapy programmes help the patient to return to normal or near normal life.
  • It seeks to eliminate orthodox attitudes or an egoistic mentality, which obstruct practical implementation of physical rehabilitation in a faster way. "Mobility for all by physiotherapy' we can echo the voice.

Attendance Requirements

A minimum of 80% attendance is required in Theory and Practical of each subject.

Internal Assessment

Based on periodic tests & assignments, clinical presentation etc.

There shall be 3 session exams in I, II and final year and 2 in III year.

Internal marks shall be 20 and 10 for theory and practical respectively and added to the final grades in the University Examination.

Schedule of Examination

There will be 2 exams in a year

 

  1. Annual Examination

  2. upplementary examination

Exams shall be held at the end of 1st year, 2year, 2 ½ year & 3 ½ year for I, II, III & IV and Final examination respectively (for details of table V to VIII)

Examination for main subject shall be conducted by university and subsidiary in the college.

CRITERIA TO PASS AND GET UNIVERSITY CLASS AND RANK

Main Subjects

  1. A candidate has to secure 50% marks in Theory and 50% in Practical separately.

  2. Candidate has to secure 50% marks in Internal Assessment of each subject. The marks are sent to University to add together with University Examination to pass the subjects.
  3. candidate has to secure 35% marks in subsidiary subjects.

DECLARATION OF CLASS

  1. 75% and more in First Attempt – Passed with Distinction

  2. For a pass in Theory and Practicals a candidate has to secure a minimum 40% marks in university conducted exams and 50% aggregate (including internal assessment) separately for theory and practicals.

  3. 60% and more and less than 75% in first Attempt First Class

50% and more and less than 60% in first Attempt Second Class

  1. The candidate who passes in more than one attempt will be placed in Pass Class irrespect of percentage of marks secured.

  2. The first ten ranks in the University are awarded every year. Only the candidates who pass all subjects in the first attempt are eligible for the award rank.

  3. Intern ship Duration : 6 months

No candidate shall be awarded degree certificate without completion of Internship

 

CARRY OVER

I year (5 Main subjects):

A candidate who has failed in Ist year is permitted to carry any two of the five main subjects and shall have to pass these subjects before appearing for the II year examination.

Subsidiary subject – English may be carried by candidate failed in that subject but shall have to pass before final year.

II Year (4 main subjects): A candidate failing in any one of the main subjects in II year is permitted to carry over the main subject, but has to pass the subject before appearing for FINAL year examination.

Bio-engineering, Management including Research methodology and Ethics are subsidiary subjects and may be carried over by a failed candidate in those subjects but shall have to pass before final year.

III Year (5 main subjects) A candidate is permitted to carry any two of the failed subjects and shall have to pass these subjects before appearing for the final year examination.

FEE STRUCTURE

The fees charged for the course is in accordance with RGUHS and Government of Karnataka.
